Prevention Scratches
Hardness can be enhanced by applying a glass coating。
It crystallizes and hardens by adding water and heat to a special solvent.
Immediately after the application, it takes about 2 weeks to reachs the hardness of 4H and the hardness reachs to 9H. Our coatings Morse code reach a hardness of up to 7.
What is 9H?What is the difference between 7 and 7H
Maybe for some people they do not understand what 9H is.
H is JIS standard。"H" is a unit of hardness used to represent the strength of the pencil core。Many people know that there are "2B" or "HB" in the type of pencil for sure。
HとはHard(ハード/硬い)、
BとはBlack(ブラック/黒)の、
Fとはfirm(ファーム/しっかりとした)の略字です。
The higher the number, 3H and 4H means the harder the core and the lighter the color.
The larger the number in front of B such as 3B, 4B means the softer the core and the darker the color.
There are 17 types of pencil:
9H・8H・7H・6H・5H・4H・3H・2H・H・F・HB・B・2B・3B・4B・5B・6B.
Standard of glass coating to apply to smartphones performs "scratch test" generally using the pencil was mentioned above. It means glass coating is safe for scratching with a 9H pencil can claim "Hardness 9H".
There is another "Mohs hardness" that specifies the hardness of minerals in addition to pencil hardness.。
The Mohs hardness scale is from 1 to 10, with 2.5 for the nail and 10 for the diamond.
When comparing the Mohs hardness and the Pencil hardness, the pencil hardness of 9H corresponds to about 5 in Mohs hardness.
That means harder than platinum and softer than the knife blade。
In other words, the glass coating makes it really difficult to get scratched.
